Maintenance Garage Fire at Boyne Highlands Resort

On Saturday, September 21, fire departments were called to Boyne Highlands Resort for a structural fire at the resort's Ross garage.  The fire is estimated to have begun at approximately 9 a.m. and was discovered by a mechanic who attempted to extinguish it.  There were no injuries.  The garage held a significant amount of the resort's golf course equipment.

"We would like to thank the multiple fire departments who came to our aid," said Mike Chumbler, Boyne Highlands Resort president and general manager. "While the building and its contents are a total loss, what's most important is no one was injured."

Chumbler added, "Many of our vendors have reached out offering immediate support, and deliveries to replace lost equipment are arriving starting today so there will not be any disruption to our golf course operations."

Boyne Highlands Resort operates four 18-hole championship golf courses, including the 2019 National Golf Course Owners Association Course of the Year, The Heather.
