  • Mission

The purpose of The Highlands Adventure Camp is to provide high quality and adventurous opportunities for children to grow and explore the world around them. We strive to give all campers a safe environment in which they can explore fun, challenging and educational experiences. Campers will learn from positive role models, gain self-esteem and self-confidence, learn from new experiences, make new friends, create memories and have the opportunity to build skills for their future.

    Philosophy

Here at The Highlands Adventure Camp we believe that children deserve the opportunity to learn and grow in a safe, enriching and adventurous environment. We believe learning happens through positive relationships, exploration, experiences and a sense of belonging that enable children to become productive contributors to the world in which they live. We believe that children are competent, capable of complex thinking, curious and rich in potential. We believe in developing independence, unplugging and connecting face to face, living healthy, getting outside, being a positive change in the world, trying new things, having fun, being happy, and belonging to a community that feels like a family.

Adventure Camp is designed to provide:

    • A nurturing, loving, and energetic team who understands the children’s needs in this environment.
    • A safe, healthy and dependable environment.
    • An environment that is child-oriented, child-initiated, and play-based.
    • Physical, social, emotional, and cognitive growth.
    • Emphasis on the need for respect and acceptance of others in our camp and in today’s diverse society.
    • A basis for respecting space and property belonging to others.
