The Highlands Announces Fall Events Including a Candle Making Workshop and Annual Harvest Fest
The Highlands in Harbor Springs is gearing up for fall with two October events and a lodging offer designed to make the most of northern Michigan's most colorful season. From a creative candle-making evening with a local artisan to the return of the beloved Highlands Harvest Fest, there's plenty to look forward to this autumn.
CANDLE MAKING WITH THICC WICC CANDLES | SATURDAY, OCTOBER 3 | 4–6 P.M.
Pour, create, and take home something made entirely your own during this workshop. Join Eric Snider of Thicc Wicc Candles for a fun and creative evening of candle making at The Highlands, held in the Champion Room at Heather Highlands Inn. Participants will craft two custom candles, each featuring their own signature scent blend, while enjoying food and drinks throughout the event.

THE HIGHLANDS HARVEST FEST | SATURDAY, OCTOBER 17 | 12–4 P.M.
A Harbor Springs tradition returns for an afternoon of fall fun. The Highlands Harvest Fest brings the whole family together — furry friends included — for seasonal activities, tastings, a costume contest, and more.
Family activities include face painting, cookie decorating, burlap sack racing, pumpkin ring toss, pumpkin bowling, keg bowling, yard games, and cider and donuts. Guests can also enjoy complimentary Short's Brewing and Carbliss tastings at the top of the hill and compete in the Stein Hoisting Competition.
Schedule:
- 12 p.m. — Event begins
- 1:30 p.m. — Costume Contest
- 2 p.m. — Stein Hoisting Competition
- 4 p.m. — Event ends
The fun then moves indoors at the Zoo Bar from 5 to 9 p.m. with live music and line dancing.
