Second phase of hotel transformation complete

Boyne Highlands Debuts New Main Lodge Guest Rooms

HARBOR SPRINGS, Mich. (September 10, 2021) – Boyne Highlands Resort in northern Michigan has completed its second of four phases in a significant transformation of its iconic Main Lodge.  In this phase, the resort has remodeled 87 guest rooms into refined and elegant luxury accommodations.

Guest rooms have expanded to more spacious layouts with options ranging from standard king and queen configurations, to deluxe, premium, and suite layouts with sitting areas and sleeper sofas.

Drawing on inspiration from the hotel’s original English Tudor-style, the rooms have been renamed with Scottish and English heritage including The Glen, The Rowan, and The Hazel.

The design style is a blend of traditional English countryside with pure contemporary form, where gracious convention meets idyllic comfort.  The color palette draws on the rich earthy tones of the surrounding seasonal landscape, with clean, cozy textures, patterns, and classic materials from tufted leather headboards and rich wood built-in cabinetry to wainscoting, velour chairs, and metal elements.

Bathrooms feature marble floor and wall tiles, fixtures from British manufacturer, Lefroy & Brookes, with hand-casted, forged, polished, and assembled taps, Euro-style toilets, custom designed lighted mirrors, vanity toe kick nightlights, and local art adorning the walls.

Each room features modern conveniences inclusive of complimentary Wi-Fi, high-efficiency mini smart refrigerator, Nespresso machine, and Oliver and Hemming Bluetooth speaker with analog clock.

“The modernization of the Main Lodge is a pivotal piece of a larger resort transformation that will be underway throughout the next 10 years," said Mike Chumbler, president and general manager of Boyne Highlands Resort. “The Main Lodge is at the heart of the experience, and stands as a testament to the elevated caliber of service, amenities, and accommodations our guests can expect.”

The next phase of the Main Lodge renovation is slated to begin in spring of 2022 with plans to construct a multi-level European-style spa facility and redesign the Tower lobbies.  The final phase includes reimagined restaurants, progressive conference facilities, a swimming complex, and more.
