HARBOR SPRINGS, Mich. (December 20, 2022) – A new pop-up Italian dining experience is now open at The Highlands and welcoming guests for the winter season.  Bella Sorpresa, meaning beautiful surprise, is located inside the Country Club of Boyne and features cozy charm and home-cooked Italian specialties.

Guests of the resort can take complimentary shuttle transportation to the Club and gather together for good foods and wines, and the restaurant also serves the public.

Embracing the Italian meal as a ritual, diners can enjoy a true epicurean experience, complete with an aperitif and digestif.  Bella Sorpresa’s menu features classic Italian recipes, along with tantalizing modern dishes.

House favorites include Porcini Vellutata, a velvety and elegant soup featuring porcini mushrooms, and Anatra, a Culver Farms duck breast with fondant potato and poached pears.  The restaurant offers fresh pasta features and all entrees are served with housemade crusty sourdough bread with roasted garlic puree and extra virgin olive oil.  A wine and dessert menu is also available. 

Dining reservations are suggested and can be made online via OpenTable.  Bella Sorpresa is open Wednesdays through Saturdays through early March from 5 to 9 p.m.  The restaurant can also be booked for private parties.
